Coast the Coast Bike Tour
On May 22ndand 23rdthe Cyclomaniacs will be participating then the National MS Society's Coast the Coast Bike Tour to raise money to help create a world free of MS.
The Coast the Coast Bike Tour is a"tour" not a race. Stating on Saturday morning at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ riders will embark on a 25, 50, 85 or 170 mile trek.
The 25 and 50 mile rides are out and back. They head east to the New Jersey coast line, then head south along the coast, where rides can enjoy gorgeous ocean views. The route is mostly flat and easy ride.
The 85 mile tours are offered on both Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday ride starts at Monmouth University and ends at the Pine Lands Middle School in Tuckerton ,NJ. For those that are a gluttin for punishment there is a century (100 mile) option. A bus is available for the return trip. Dinner is provided at the Tuckerton seaport.
The Sunday ride starts at the Pine Lands Middle School and ends that the Coast Guard Base in Cape May, NJ. A bus is available to take you back to the Middle School. Dinner is provided at the Coast Guard Base. The catfish is awesome. Make sure you get some.
The 170 mile tour is a combination of the 2, 85 mile rides above. Rider can spend Saturday night camping on the field at the Middle School, sleep in the Gym or get a hotel on Long Beach Island. I recomond the latter. Buses are provide to get the riders to and from LBI.
Day 2 of the 170 mile tour ends ate the Cape May Coast Guard Base, where all riders are served dinner. Buses are available to bring you back to Monmouth University.
